Updates on Mask Mandates at Calvary

Updated: Apr 13, 2022

April 13

"In light of our commitment to stay up to date and follow the recommendations of Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health, the Board of Calvary United Church is strongly encouraging the use of a mask in our indoor, public space. We will continue to follow guidelines as they develop and will keep our congregation updated about any future decisions. If you have any further questions, please connect with Angie Tuffnail or Cathy Linseman"

With the lifting of mask mandates, we wanted to help answer people's question: "What is Calvary's plan?"

The Short Answer: We encourage everyone to do what helps them feel most comfortable - whether wearing a mask or not. Masks will no longer be required for any of Calvary’s services or programs.

We recognize this continues to be a challenging time and can feel tricky to navigate. At Calvary, we value a culture of honour. We want this culture of honour and grace to help us navigate this next chapter together. Some will be ready and eager to gather without a mask, while others will continue to value masks for themselves or the people in their lives. We want to show respect, kindness and grace to one another as a church family. We want to allow people to adjust at their own pace and comfort level.

In order to help with this transition, we will…

  • Continue to broadcast our services online.

  • Continue to provide some online options for other opportunities, especially in these upcoming months, as best as we can

  • Continue to provide social distancing within the sanctuary (and other spaces) to provide that extra space. We are blessed with a spacious sanctuary and building so we can keep utilizing the extra room. Greeters will be available to help find a space on Sundays that works best for you (ex. back rows behind people or corners with more space).

If you wish to further discuss this, please contact Cathy Linseman (DLinen606@rogers.com). If you simply have specific clarifying questions about the plan, you can contact Rhonda
