Summary
What is it?
For one full week, from Sunday, April 6 to Sunday, April 13, 2025, we are setting aside dedicated time & space at Calvary United Church, St. Jacobs (Library) for continuous prayer. Our goal is to have people in prayer around the clock, seeking God together.
Why are we doing this?
We believe in the power of prayer—both in us and through us. Throughout history, prayer movements and 24/7 prayer rooms have transformed lives and communities. This is our opportunity to step deeper into being a house of prayer, right here, right now! For such a time is this…
How does this work?
No matter your experience or how you’re wired, there are a variety of ways & tools to engage in prayer. There is some structure to use as you desire. There are also be some special focuses provided some days as well. (Great if you want to sign up for multiple slots!) You have the chance to pray for yourself, your family, and your journey; intercede for our church, community, and world; and lift your eyes to God in worship and reflection.

Frequently
Asked
Questions

-
The prayer room runs 24/7 for one full week with one-hour time slots available each day. Our goal is to have continuous, in-person prayer happening throughout the week!
-
Calvary’s library has been transformed into a creative, interactive prayer space with various stations for reflection, worship, and prayer.
-
There’s no one “right” way to pray—this space is designed for you to connect with God, whether through personal prayer, intercession for others, or simply resting in His presence.
-
The prayer week runs between 6 PM on Sunday, April 6, and ends at 6 PM on Sunday, April 13, with special events happening throughout the week.
How does sign-up work?

-
We are using a website provided by 24-7 Prayer for sign-ups, managed by our planning team.
-
Click here to sign up! (Simply double-click on the calendar in your chosen time slot and follow the prompts.)
-
Some time slots (daytime, evening, family) have different structures—check the “Sign-Up Info” section for details.

Need help signing up?

-
No problem! Email prayerroom@calvaryunited.com or call the church office—we’d be happy to assist.
When can I sign up?
-
Sign-ups opened Sunday, March 16!
-
Deadline: We are still accepting sign-ups through the prayer week through the link above, or contact us at prayerroom@calvaryunited.com.
Can I invite friends outside of Calvary?
-
Absolutely! This is a wonderful opportunity to invite a friend to pray with you.

Will there be other people there? Do I have to pray with others??
-
It's up to you! You can sign up with friends or choose to sign up solo.
-
When you sign up you can determine if you want to 'lock' the room and limit sign up or keep it open in case someone else wishes to sign up with you. Chances are people will choose a spot that's not taken but if you are willing to share the space, perhaps someone could sign up with you (or drop in)
-
Regardless, the space doesn't require you to pray together with anyone in the room with you - just perhaps sharing the space with someone as you both engage in however you wish to pray.
How can my family participate?
-
Families were made for prayer! We’ve set aside special family-friendly time slots with added adapted activities to help engage kids.
-
See the “Sign-Up Info” section for more details.
-
Childcare is not provided, but you are welcome to pray together as a family.
-
If one hour feels too much, chat with our registrar about arranging a special 30min time slot.
-
Sr. Youth (April 11 - Friday night) & Jr. Youth (April 13 - Sunday morning) will have special sessions centered around the prayer room.
Can I just drop in?
-
We encourage signing up in advance so we can cover prayer for the entire week. Drop-ins are available during most daytime and evening hours.
What if I don’t think I can do a full hour?

-
The room includes various prayer stations to guide and engage you. You’ll be surprised how fast the hour will go!
-
Consider signing up with a friend or prayer partner
-
Drop in during available daytime/evening hours. After seeing it you may even want to sign up/return later in the week!
-
Join us for one of the special events, like Wednesday night worship, community/outreach focus, prophetic (hearing from God), and opening/closing times. These are marked on the calendar.

I’m not feeling close to God right now—should I still come?
-
Absolutely. If you’re feeling distant, this space is for you.
-
There is no “right way” to pray—come as you are and let God meet you here.
