Advent Reflection for December 16, 2021

Jesus has been teaching me and working with me a lot lately. One big thing I am working with God on is my mindset to be able to recognize his goodness more easily and more often. God has also been saying, “Trust me.” I have a hard time sometimes not worrying about what is to come and feeling unprepared even though I know that God has a plan and whatever way it works out will be the way God wants it to.

There is a song I love that I just now realized ties into this perfectly, the song is called "Trust In You" and it is sung by Lauren Daigle. The chorus says,

When You don't move the mountains

I'm needing You to move

When You don't part the waters

I wish I could walk through

When You don't give the answers

As I cry out to You

I will trust, I will trust

I will trust in You

When God doesn’t do the things that I want or that I think are best I need to trust him because he sees things that I can’t and he has a plan that I don’t know about yet.

God also reminded me about a verse I memorized at Leadership Development camp this summer which is Proverbs 3:5-6, it says, “Trust the Lord with all your heart; lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your path straight.” I love the ways God works and how he sets up all these separate things and shows me how they are connected. It really reinforces for me that I am on the right track and am understanding how God is working with me.
