The surprising exchange

Why Mission and Outreach...why Mexico?   To me, Mission and Outreach is not something we simply do to, or for someone less fortunate than ourselves.   Certainly, those involved in programs such as Mexico bring a genuine spirit of helping others – recognizing needs, and wanting to help give a hand up.   There is a passion for carrying on the ministries of the Word of God and attracting others to God, by giving hope for the future.   But, there is more.  

When you lose yourself in the service of others, there is a wonderful exchange that happens.   The so called “giver” is also blessed in so many ways.   It almost feels wrong.  We are supposed to give and not expect anything in return.  We are the volunteers – we are helping you…you are not supposed to give back to us.  But amazingly, that is exactly what happens.   Being involved in outreach, you connect with others, building community and support for each other, you feel good about your achievements, you are challenged, and you will be changed.  

When you are there, when you have given, and you see the smile on a child’s face, or the tears of joy in a mother’s eyes, YOU will never be the same.
