Lighthouse - What to Expect
Sunday Mornings for Kids:
We have an exciting children’s program on Sunday mornings that we call Lighthouse. For kids ages 3-13, Lighthouse takes place during the 10 am service. Our nursery is run by volunteers that will be happy to care for your infants and toddlers throughout the whole service.
Lighthouse children go to the first part of the service with their families and are invited to begin their separate worship and teaching time about 15 minutes into the service. We love to see the Lighthouse kids jump up with excitement from their seats and race upstairs to begin their program!
Drop Off and Signing In
You are welcome to drop off your children at the Lighthouse program located upstairs or to simply let them go out with the other children as long as they have been signed in. If you are bringing your child/children for the first time we ask that you come upstairs with them and sign them in so that we can keep track of the children in our care.
Age-Centred Small Groups
On a Sunday morning your child will be with a small group of ranging from 4 – 15 kids, depending on their age. In their small groups they will get to experience 1 of the following workshops on a Sunday morning: crafts, snack, science, games, drama or Video. While the children stay in their same classroom every week, the workshop leaders rotate to meet them. Our theme is the same for 4 weeks so each group will be able to experience 4 different workshops related to the same theme. Our hope is that the children will learn the concepts being presented in a meaningful way as they take it in according to their different leaning styles.
Pick-Up
At the end of Sunday morning worship you can pick up your children that are grade 4 and below at their classrooms. Lists are found on the classroom doors. Children that are in grade 5 and above do not need to be signed out and will come and find you when they are finished.
